The Center guarantees the innovation capacity in a future-oriented area, which is of key relevance to all academic and economic activities in biomedicine. The Center encompasses the Bavarian Research Network for Molecular Biosystems (BioSysNet), a Core Center that builds on the expertise of the Gene Center of the LMU Munich and on the cluster of excellence “Center for Integrated Protein Science” (CIPSM) with the new Research Building for Molecular Biosystems on the Munich Campus Großhadern/Martinsried and activities of technology transfer. The Center will train a new generation of researchers that think interdisciplinary and will decisively shape the future of life sciences in Germany and Europe. The Bavarian Center for Molecular Biosystems is funded by the Bavarian State Ministry of Education and Culture, Science and the Arts and supported by the Zukunftsinitiative “Aufbruch Bayern” with subsides up to 18.1 Mio.
